Grosvenor Casino Review

UK players who like to play real-world Blackjack tables will very likely be familiar with Grosvenor Casinos. The biggest land-based casino operator in the UK, Grosvenor has nearly sixty clubs in major towns and cities across the country and we’ve personally enjoyed a number of sessions at its Blackjack tables.

Unsurprisingly for such a major player in the UK casino business, Grosvenor Casinos’ online site is a properly regulated and licenced affair operating under both a UK and Alderney Gambling Control Commission licence, and holds Gamcare Certification too.

It also clearly announces that ‘you’re in safe hands’ at its site, with a published commitment to protect your account with the latest digital security and never to sell or rent your details to third parties. All good to know, but can its online gaming bear comparison to the real-world thrills of Grosvenor’s land-based clubs?

A quick glance at the navigation on Grosvenor Casinos’ home page shows a reassuring, dedicated tab for table and card games – ‘proper’ casino gaming in our opinion, rather than the fairground frippery of slots – under which a further submenu is home for all its online Blackjack.

In truth the selection here is a little limited, with just five options to choose from, however they’re all strong games from IGT/ Scientific Gaming and include both the popular Perfect Pairs side bet game and a very well presented Live Dealer version.

For any player with traditional tastes in Blackjack, Grosvenor Casinos’ choice should have you amply covered, but we would like to see more unusual options added here in the future, particularly the Free Bet Blackjack game we’ve enjoyed at their land-based clubs should it become available in an online version.

The Welcome Bonus at Grosvenor Casino seems a little paltry at just a maximum of £20 added to a first deposit of £20, however the wagering requirements are an exceptionally low five times the bonus paid which is eight to ten times better than the usual figure we see.

The bummer is that Blackjack doesn’t contribute to the wagering requirement . . . the published terms are a little ambiguous (excluding all ‘even money’ bets, and Blackjack can pay 3 to 2 after all), but a quick check with Grosvenor’s very efficient customer service centre soon cleared up that Blackjack is included in that exclusion. Oh well, at least we were able to get a free no deposit bonus of another £20 because we’re members at our local Grosvenor Casino!

As already mentioned, Grosvenor Casino have a very decent customer support service on hand via Freephone, Live Chat and email, so human help is easily to hand should you need it. Banking options are also very complete, with the most popular debit/credit card, e-wallet and prepayment services available to let you transact with your player account as best suits your needs.

We’re fans of the Grosvenor real-world clubs we’ve played, and its online casino is a very nice place to play too. More adventurous players might prefer to see more choice of online Blackjack tables here, but what is available doesn’t disappoint, delivering really good gaming that has all the authentic feel to give you the proper Blackjack buzz.

The Welcome Bonus here obviously isn’t gong to set anyone’s world alight, but it shouldn’t discourage you. Grosvenor Casino is undoubtedly a safe and sound choice and, if its selection of Blackjack tables meets your personal preferences, you owe it to yourself to add it to your shortlist of online casinos to try out.
